The Manager Inflight Base Operations II is responsible for executing on the strategy for the operation of the base and has oversight of the Flight Attendant workgroup at Alaska Airlines.

As a people leader, the Inflight Base Manager leads and establishes priorities and achieves base objectives, with a special focus on on-time performance, customer service, and safety.

Your Duties And Responsibilities as a Manager Inflight Base Operations II

  • Make decisions to properly prepare necessary plans, budgets, and schedules.
  • Cultivates a positive and trusting relationship with Flight Attendants and AFA (Association of Flight Attendants) Representatives by maintaining a highly visible presence at the base, ongoing and timely communication, and through labor contract administration.
  • Leads by example (e.g., good judgment, professional appearance, solid work ethic) and works closely with performance supervisors to provide direction in all discipline issues.
  • Shape the culture of the team through action, presence, and reinforcement of behaviors.
  • Develop people through effective performance management and ongoing feedback, focusing on delegation for stretch assignments, growing and developing the team for capacity and growth, looking at performance across the team, and time management.
  • Executes and achieves base objectives in the areas of employee relations, sick leave, and safety.

Who Can Apply For This Position 

  • 2 years of leadership experience.
  • Ability and willingness to work a variable schedule, including being on call for a period of 24 hours.
  • A minimum of 2 years of airline experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
  • Ability to complete Alaska Airlines’ initial training/IOE, hold an FAA flight attendant certificate, and remain qualified through recurrent training.
